The 2023 eyebrow trends have something for everyone.
Indeed, this generation can be firmly divided into two halves: the era before everyone had a full brow routine , and our modern, enlightened age. Sure, eyebrows and their many variations enjoyed special attention decades (and even centuries) ago, but there has never been a complete dedication - complete with tons of products and routines to match - like the kind seen today. With so much focus on eyebrows, it's only natural that several extreme styles would be in vogue at the same time - and it looks like brow trend predictions for 2023 point to the most brow-obsessed year we've got coming up.
TZR turned to two world-class beauty experts for their opinions on exactly what to expect.
Trends in eyebrow shapes.
Recent decades have largely been devoted to arched brows - the lifting effect is both face-flattering and more than a little foxy. But in 2023. East Asia, and especially K-pop stars like BLACKPINK's Jisoo, have put the straight brow on trend, and more women are embracing this new trend.
On the other hand, Anastasia Soare, founder and CEO of Anastasia Beverly Hills, relies on the golden ratio. Soare has a great trick for your own golden section at home. She says to use your brow pencil as a pencil and trace the shape of your brow which should start right at the corner of your nostril, the arch - an arc looks best just above the center of your iris and a tail that should extend just past the end of your eyes. Soiree says, "In true brow mastery, we use the golden section and draw the most desirable proportions of each client's brows - the head, arch and tail have defined points."
Trends in eyebrow color.
The bleached brow look has made its way from the runway to the red carpet, but has it ever managed to leave a real mark on the general population? Not exactly.
'If your eyebrows are darker than your hair, they will be the point of attraction. If your eyebrows are lighter than your hair or the same colour, then your eyes will stand out,' says Soiree, but that's not always what women want. To avoid having to permanently furrow your brows, use different gels and pencils to recreate the effect you want.
Eyebrow 'treatment' trends.
The current trend for eyebrows with thick and thin hairs is lamination. A service similar to perming but only lifts, separates and makes the eyebrow hairs coarser but easier to manage. The overall effect of fuller and more youthful brows is the end result.
Microblading also continues to be a highly sought after service. Due to the fact that it lasts about 2 years, it is highly sought after because it allows women to get rid of the annoying eyebrow attributes and routines for a long period of time while still being able to have natural looking brows.
Others rely on micropigmentation to give full and voluminous eyebrows, a method similar to shadows but without the annoying daily standing in front of the mirror to apply them.
The last of the methods that are a long-lasting solution is microshading. A procedure that combines microblading and micropigmentation and aims to simultaneously create the most realistic eyebrows hairier but also filled with volume shadows. Microblading is popular with women who want to completely reconstruct their brows due to missing ones or with large missing hairs. These three procedures are some of the most sought after by the modern woman due to the effectiveness and long lasting solution .
